چکیده

Purpose We hereby describe a case of persistent cytomegalovirus (CMV) viremia and retinitis following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) that was successfully treated with infusion CMV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) despite previous treatment Epstein Bar Virus (EBV) -specific CTL, which occurred 5 months earlier. Observations Following several anti- viral medication trials failed to eradicate the infectious process, patient infusions CMV-CTL from biobank cryopreserved virus-specific cells. Shortly after first infusion, remarkable response noted. A few days second resolved completely. No recurrence noted at one-year follow-up, there no evidence GVHD. Conclusions importance The is unique for two reasons: use CTL an indication CMV retinitis; successive administration, in same patient, third-party treat different infections (Epstein-Barr virus cytomegalovirus) on separate occasions transplantation.
